How Salaams work
Updated 13 October 2026
A Salaam is how you say hello on sindhi.me. It’s a gentle, low-pressure way to reach out to another Sindhi — whether they’re in your city or from your family’s village.
Sending a Salaam
- Open someone’s profile from a city or village page.
- Tap Salaam.
- Optionally add a short note — a line about how you’re connected is always nice.
That’s it. They’ll see your Salaam and can reply when they’re ready.
Receiving a Salaam
When someone sends you a Salaam, you decide what happens next:
- Reply to start a conversation.
- Leave it if you’re not interested — there’s no pressure and no penalty.
- Block or report if something feels off (see Blocking and reporting).
sindhi.me is calm by design. You won't be buried in requests, and a Salaam you don't answer quietly fades — the other person isn't told you declined.
Good first messages
- Mention a shared connection: your village, your city, a family name.
- Keep it short and warm.
- Treat people the way you’d want to be greeted. Our community guidelines describe the tone we’re going for.
